Great First Week of Summer Camp

If you’re looking for basic training for your young hockey player, look no further as the Eels summer hockey camp answers the call.

Twenty-two Mites-Peewees and 10 Bantams –Midgets went back to school last week working on the entire fundamental of ice hockey. It was simply phenomenal in every aspect. The attendees worked on their skating including edge control, speed, quickness and agility. You could see first hand the marked improvement of all the participants.

On the puck side, detailed instruction was provided on stick handling, puck control and scoring. Players were provided with instructions on the ABC’s and then advanced techniques were intergraded. The key was teaching the proper technique and form.

Lets not forget the fun. That attribute has been lost in so many sporting events.  Indeed, you have to have a blend of fun plus instruction otherwise you will shut off any desired learning for the players. Positive coaching has always been our hallmark of our summer camps. Teach in a fun and positive environment-that leads to enthusiasm of the players to want to learn and not be in fear as so many other programs foster.
